Two years after the disastrous events in Las Vegas, it is now Stu's (Ed Helms) turn to walk down the aisle. Since his bride is from Thailand, Stu decides to hold the wedding there. Desperately hoping to avoid the mayhem of Doug's (Justin Bartha) bachelor party, Stu chooses what he thinks will be a safe option: an alcohol-free, pre-wedding brunch. But this being Thailand, and with Phil (Bradley Cooper) and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) again in attendance, anything can happen.

If you want to see everything you saw in Hangover, only transplanted to Bangkok, with a drug-peddling simian and a missing human finger, then Hangover 2 is the movie for you.

don’t care what anyone says the hangover 2 is a great movie obviously not as great as the first but you can kiss my ass if you think the hangover 2 is below a at least 3.5 stars because at that point you clearly cannot comprehend good comedy

No new ideas here, but passable, just. Only a very few laugh out loud moments for me. Btw, Mike Tyson is completely tone deaf, should have just spoken the lyrics, still I wouldn’t have told him that!

The Hangover Part II has its moments, especially because Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis still have strong chemistry. Even when the material feels repetitive, Phil, Stu, and Alan fall back into panic, blame, and bad decisions naturally enough to keep parts of the movie watchable. Moving the chaos to Bangkok gives the sequel a darker, seedier, more punishing atmosphere. The city adds heat, color, scale, and discomfort, making the night feel harsher than the Vegas trip. Ed Helms gets a lot to play, and Stu’s tattoo, wedding panic, and growing horror give him some frantic, funny moments. The movie deserves some credit for committing to a nastier tone, but it is not nearly as fresh as the original. Alan is harder to enjoy this time because his behavior feels more selfish and destructive, and the plot repeats the first movie too closely. It has some laughs, but it feels harsher than inspired.
